Rear disc options
I just bought a new 9" differential housing and I plan to build up a nice unit but within budget. Moser and Currie were too expensive and I can work with some used parts to save dough. I would like to do a disc brake swap to compliment my nice front discs, but alittle unsure what my options are. Got any advice? I was considering Explorer, but don't they use big bearing flanges which wouldnt work on my small bearing unit? So, other than the original 9" discsMustangshad, what should I be looking into.
Thanks ~Nic

Take a look at www.mpbrakes.com. They have some budget minded kits that are quality sets.
Check out www.ultrastang.com
Steve there has some good info and a nice choice of setups. I'm running his older Lincoln Mark VII style rear discs.

the bubble crown vic parts bolt on with a small shim on a small bearing 8 and 9 inch rear i think the shim is something like .130 in thickness to keep the axels from having in and out play after the conversion my ssbc kit had a shim im sure its the same style shim that you would need figure you could get a whole rear for what 40-50$ note the police rears have vented rotors the regular passengers cars are solid

You plan on racing it ? Just curious because as a DD, its really just a waste of money.
.....IMO of course. [sm=hail.gif]
