Default Restomod Eleanor Rustang progress

I can't find my thread with all the project history anymore but here are some pics of the latest progress.
Brought it home from being painted end of last month, ran stainless steel brake lines and new master cylinder. I had a lot of work to get all the brackets in the right spots since it has new metal from the firewall forward and none of the holes were pre marked or drilled.
The headliner, windsheild and rear glass are in.
The 429 is back in but nothing really hooked up yet.
Still a long way to go but it's close.

Looks pretty decent.
What's the story on the unpainted areas around the winshield frame in the first photo? ( still masked?)

That thing looks MEAN. Looks like it is coming along well. Thanks for the update and good luck with the rest of it. Can't wait to see the end results!

The headliner was taped in place so it wouldn't blow out on the trailer when I hauled it home without any windows. We pulled it loose to paint all the flange area.
notice the headliner hanging in this photo...

Thanks, me either. Yours is pretty sweet too. It has a great look with the wheels, hood, etc.

Thanks but mine is nowhere near as clean as yours is ...if you could see mine up close, you would see what I mean. Fortunately she hides her flaws well but would really stand to benefit from a job like you are doing. When are you hoping to put the finishing touches on your E?

By the way, I always love that pic in your signature... that is just amazing. What is that from? It looks like those old mustangs either got caught up in a volcanic flow or swept away in a 100 year flood! love it!

My car was pretty bad, I saved it from the crusher. It wasn't as bad as my sig pics but close. I travel a lot so I work on it when I can, I really wanted to drive it this summer but you can see that didn't happen. It will be warm here thru November (most days) so I still plan to get it drivable this year.
I took that picture in a junkyard a year or two ago. I don't know their story but the guy had 30 or so in bad shape. Not much left for parts even.

Looking awesome. I know if I have my coupe long enough it's going to come apart for similar upgrades. But after doing this EFI project, it will be a while.

Looking good.I like your paint color choice. I don't think even Unique Motorsports does them red and black? You may be starting a trend here. So......... what kind of work did you(or are you going) to do to the 429? [sm=burnout.gif]

jcomp,
Thanks for the tip, I'll do that. I wish I had the funds to do EFI but maybe some day.

6marc5,
The 429 is a mild build, it has forged flat top TRW pistons, should be around 10.5:1 with the DOVE heads. I have a cam grind very close to the SCJ so it's not too radicle. A Holley 770 carb and Edelbrock Performer 460 intake. All mild stuff but the 429 was rated at 360HP and over 450 ft lbs of torque stock so in a 3000 lbs car it will do just fine. My car is relatively low budget build and a bit old school. Granada front spindles, Versailles 9" with discs and a C6. Nothing fancy.
Thanks for the comments.
Craig
