Parking Brake Idler
Putting my '69 back together and ran into a problem. I am trying to figure out where the idler hooks up to the brake cable. I replaced my floor pans years ago and when I went to hook up the brake cables, I have the idler arm, but not the bracket. It is my understanding that a bracket was attached on the bottom of the passenger floorboard. I know I can order the bracket, but do not know the exact location or if that is the right application.

Here are a couple pics I found that may help. They are from a 68, maybe close to a 69.

Great Pictures. Looking at your '68, it appears to be slightly different. My front cable comes out, goes through the frame and hooks to a bracket on the attached to the frame. The equalizer and spring is than attached to the end of the forward cable. My left brake cable is short and the right is really long and loops around the equalizer, than the connector hooks both the cables together, close to the left rear wheel. It appears that there should be something on the passenger side to pull everything tight. Looking in the books and your '68, it shows the bracket and brake idler.
Is that all I'm missing?

I'm not completely sure what you are missing. I have yet to install my parking brake assembly. THese pics are from a '68 and my car is a '67 and yours is a '69. They could all be different. I have looked in my manuals too, very difficult to see what the hell is going on there. Forget any mounting locations, just pics of how everything goes together. I would search the internet for 69's and see if there are any pics of the undercarriage that may show the parking brake assembly complete. Sorry I couldn't help more. Good luck.
