Depends on what you're going to do with it. If you're going to autocross or something that will put a lot of hard loads on the suspension, modify the stock suspension or go Griggs. For most drivers, the M2 will provide a vast improvement over stock handling (some on VMF who have done bothsay superior toa modified stock-type suspension). See the Reenmachine build. This car was featured in Mustang Monthly this month. http://www.reenmachine.com/67_conv_2006.php. Again the main reason to go M2 is to open the engine bay. If you don't need the space for a mod motor or big block, notching the towers would be much easier and quicker, not to mention a couple thousand cheaper.

It seems that I have been turned away from spending unneeded money on the MII. I will look into updated stock suspension with the notch kit. Thaks again for your help ozarks06.

03Maverik,

Be careful about the RRS notching kit. I believe that this kit is for use with the RRScoil-over suspension. It makes a deeper notch than the link I gave in my previous post. The link I gave shows how to notch the towers while still using the stock suspension. If you go the RRS notch kit I think you are going to have to use their coil-over set up. I may be wrong and you might want to check with RRS to be sure.

And just for the record, you do not need to notch the shock towers to install a 351w or a 351c into a 65/6 mustang. Does it help, sure you can make an arguement that it makes changing spark plugs a little easier but both motors will bolt into the car with correct swap headers and motor mounts. Between the 2 the 351w is easier to install overall.

I have yet to bust a knuckle changing spark plugs, I simply use a spark plug socket, a 90 swivel and two extension arm. I don't even have to bend over.

Is there a front suspension that will allow the elimination of a the shock towers on a 65-66? It would make for an easier fit for a 351.
Check out the front clip from www.fatmanfabrication.com. It's pricey but very nice.
