Stuck between a rock and a hard place
If you have "well over 5,000 into it" I can all but guarantee you will take a serious bath. You might check craigslist and see what a "project" is going for in your neck of the woods. As ponyx65 said, you really don't want to be the guy that tells the story of the one he wished he'd never sold.
But I understand, debts are debts. Just make sure you exhaust all options before selling it.

I'm in the same dilema as you. I have so much invested in an unfinished car, I'll never get my money out of it on it's sale. You will be lucky to see 3K out of your car as is. I suggest finishing it and maybe you can get 8K .

Not too long ago I had a '65 fastback that had all the metal work just finished and tons of new parts still in the boxes(including $2500.00 worth of TCP front suspension). Long story short, I got wound up and worried about finances and sold it. That little bit of money you will get out of the car isn't even close to worth sellingit.............trust me on that one. Oh,and yes I am still kicking myself in the @ss for letting it go. All of this is JMHO,either way good luck to you!
