Default Books?

With Christmas around the corner and everyone asking for gift ideas, I was wondering if anyone had any book suggestions? I am looking for books to help research and restomod my 65 coupe. I am also looking for books about building small block Ford engines. Any suggestions?

There's one called 'Building Small Block Fords' or something, and I've heard its pretty good. Last year my uncle found an original1960's copy of a 67 Mustang/Cougar/Fairlane service manual and got it for me for Christmas.

By far ther best book I have purchased is the actual ford shop manual for your particualr year. Very detailed and complete. For the engine, "How to rebuild Your Small Block Ford." Provides step by step tear down, analysis and rebuild procedure. Excellent book. I have purchase many Mustang books over the years and these are still my main go to books.I use them all the time.
Good luck.

'How to Build Ford Restomod Street Machines' by Tony Huntimer is very good for chasis, suspension, brakes, electrical, etc. things.

The "How to rebuild a small block Ford engine" by Tom Jensen mentioned above is a must if you are going to do any engine work. Also you can pick up a "1965 Ford Comet, Falcon, Fairlane and Mustang" shop manual. Available on Amazon for about $40 in paper and $21 on CD. This is about as thick as aphone book and tells you how to do everything. Includes detailed wiring diagrams also. I also have Mustang Interior Restoration Guide 1964 1/2 - 1970 by Art Trantafello which was also useful. You can also fo to the Mustang Monthly magazine web site and search their archives for many good articles. Good luck.

That's the one I was going to recommend. It's a friggin text book..but it's a must have if you're considering EFI.

I bought it back when I had an 89 GT and I kept the book when I traded off the car. I'm glad I did. I'm also glad I kept that extra pair of oxygen sensors, too. [8D]
