What exactly does this do? I assume it allows for removing the side thats on the inside of the car to allow for working on the window easier, correct? Anyone have pics of using one or have used one that can comment?

 

Not sure what you are talking about. There is a slim tool designed for popping both handle and crank clips when you don't have the screw on handles and for popping the friction clips that hold the interior panel on.

Door skin is the outside sheet metal your talking about the door panel which is inside.

 

Door skin removal tool remove the outside skin from the door frame. If you look at the edge of your door, you will see that it is folded over the frame by about 3/8 of an inch. It's spot welded on. I'veremoved door skins by using a grinder on the edge of the door. Once you ground down the edge you will see 3 layers. The outside skin, the door frame, and the piece of the skin that was folded over.Once you get to that point on the three sides of the door (not the top) you can peel the skin off. Don't grind too much,or you will make the dimensions of the frame smaller, and the new skin will fit loose.
