Default HELP! Car wont start anymore!

I believe its the starter. What happens is, you know that sound, that "click" starters make when your battery is too dead to get the starter to move. Well my starter does a little more than click, it does a machine guy sequence of clicks and doesn't even turn the engine over. No idea why its doin that. Help me out here guys. Thanks.

Hit it with a hammer? Thats usually my first action to a starter not doing what I want, more often than not works.

maybe you broke it by hitting it too much haha. well in that case just start replacing crap and hopefully youll eventually find out whats causing your problems, thats what i always do[8D].

but seriously, it sounds like it might be the starter. my old truck had one go bad and it would click but thats all i got. replaced the starter and it worked perfectly.

ive never replaced one in a mustang but it cant be any harder than the one in my truck. two bolts and a couple wires and you should be set. you might need to put the car on jackstands though so you can work under it.

It should be simple enough. On Ford motors its behind the motor on the passenger side, a couple bolts and wires. It will come right off and the put on the new one, really easy. You will have to jack up your car to get room to work.

Don't forget the core charge! If I were you for troubleshooting purposes go and buy the starter first and keep your old one. I know autozone will let you turn in your core later with a receipt. But wait to turn in the old unit, make sure it is the starter is the problem, put in the new one and test it out. If it fixes your starting issue go turn in your old starter for the core, if not return the starter and you aren't out anything. After than go down the line and see if you can find the problem.
