Default Handling problems

Hello everyone,

I have a question about my handling and wonder if anyone could help. I have a 67 Mustang coupe with 94 Mustang wheels on it. The steering is very loose, for example when I'm driving and I come to a curve the car wants to go into the curve by itself. The steering is every touchy its has if I'm fighting with the front wheels when I drive it. To me it seems that she turns to easy.

How did the car drive before you put the new wheels on?

Is the car power or manual.

Your car not steering into a turn can be any combo of things. What conditions are your shocks/springs in. Have you had your car aligned anytime soon.

Please post as much detail as you can.

I suspect alignment or suspension issues. I'd recommend taking it into an alignment shop and getting it checked out.

If it tends to want to go into a turn only in one direction then you probably have a caster problem on one side. If it doesn't do it just to one side, then you probably have a toe-out condition which would tend to match your description. Bottom line is that you need a front end alignment which could be due to worn parts of the suspension.

Alignment...or if you got a couple grand throw in the Heidt's Mustang II front suspension, it rocks!

You need to get the wheel caster angle checked. It's also possible that the type of tire your using is very agressive in the handling department and the caster may need to be "toned down" to keep the car from steering so quickly. time for a visit to the alignment shop.
