Default The best sheet metal?

I know most of the sheet metal that is available seems to be made in Taiwan, Canada, or somewhere from "OEM Tooling".
It looks like there's more "OEM Tooling" metal available for '65-'66 than for later years.

I'm more interested in metal for '67-'68.
Prices from most dealers are usually pretty close for everything. (Because they all deal with the same wholesalers)

But I'd rather have the best piece than save $20.
Who makes the best Mustang sheet metal and who has it for sale?

I dont have any proof other than car shows and opinions from others but yearone seems to be what a few of the shops in nort GA. use on gm mopar and fords.
The guys had one of the 69 convertible camaros @ the show in Dawsonville last weekend and it looked great right outa the box in electra coat black.
Ive had Mustang Plus Mustang unlimited and Texas mustang body metal cant tell one from the other. Next project is my 65 fast back im gona try the Year one on this one.

My uncle and cousin rebuilt a camaro and bought the cheap repro fenders and said that they were smaller than the originals and the headlight area needed to be tweaked to get the extensions/buckets in. Ive bought all Original Tooled parts but haven't installed them yet so we will see how that goes.

Ive been wondering though, whats to stop them from slapping the repros in the Ford Tooled boxes and sell them for that extra price?

I have bought a lot of 67 sheet metal for my car and for the most part, the interior sheet metal, floorpans, torques boxes, frame rails, etc. seem like they fit with no problem. They have come from NPD, CJ Pony Parts, and Dallas Mustang. They are good quality and similiar thickness as original. Steel is made, typically today's metal, thinner and stronger than 40 years ago. Higher carbon is whatI've heard. That sheetmetal doesn't seem as important as looks and fit as say a fender or quarter panel. I spent the extra money and bought Original Ford Toolingfor the fenders and they fit great. Still have to permanently fit them however. But like stated before, whats to stop someone from slapping an original tooling box around some imported stuff? Maybe a conscience.

well, there are 2 major companies reproducing sheetmetal parts

one of the companies is in tiawan, their stuff is painted black, the only reason they pain it is because if they didnt the parts would rust away on the boat ride over

the other company is in canada, their stuff is bare metal with an oil like coating to keep it from rusting

the canadian made pieces are a little more $$ but well worth the extra cost
