You can get a cluster that uses aftermarket gauges or go for digital its up to you.

I had digital in a vete.
I prefer the sweeper gauges they are easier to glance at while your driving off into a corner or nailing the gas on a exit.
The digital require you reading them as opposed to the red needle like a clock.
Try looking @ a digital clock then one with a Dial your brain process the dial faster.
Saw that in a old mag article some place also.

I hate digital gauges, especially in classics. They're hard to read while the numbers are changing (ie. speedo and tach), and they're flat out tacky in a classic car.

I put some red covers over my autometer gauges in my 66 when I replaced my wiring and I hated it. I took them off real quick. They were just too dark of a color. I couldn't see the gauges nearly as well with the coversoff. The white overlays are a great addition, but I would keep the colorof the bulb as regular white light if visibility is important to you. Even in the ebay picture, you can tell the guy turned off every other light around. In most every day driving situations, you've got ambient light from street lights, other vehicles, the moon, etc. Unless you're in the back woods and it's pitch black outside, you're probably not going to see the gauges as well with a red or blue light as you would with regular light. Just my thoughts.
