well i guess that depends on if your 302 can handle a blower. if not your going to spend a little more. but ive heard good things about paxtons blower, but the ones ive seen about 3-5gs.

it depends on what type of blower you want... a lot of people like the paxtons but i perfer the roots style which sit directly on top.... depending on weather you get it cromed or nickle plated or just plain alum. they range any where from 2g-5g

I recently purchased a Vortech supercharger for my EFI 68 from Superchargersonline.com and got a smokin' deal. They sell Paxton superchargers for carbed mustangs as well. I would call them and see if you can get a deal. I saved about $200 by doing that. Good luck. If you stick with a carb I hear Barry Grant makes a good blow through carb.

Vortech also makes carb blower kits, as well as Procharger. But yeah, where do you want power? A centrifugal blower will make all it's power at upper rpms, which may be good if you have traction problems. They are also more efficient than a roots and you can run higher compression/boost for the same fuel octane. A roots will make boost and craploads of torque from nearly off idle, but they are much more inefficient than a centri or screw, so for the same boost pressure and compression, you make less power and need higher octane, but they're also cheaper. Screws are like a roots but with efficiency closer to a centri, but more expensive and would require going to EFI since no one makes a screw blower for carb'd fords. There's also a turbo option as well, the most efficient, make the best power for the boost and fuel octane, and if you set it up right it'll start boosting about as quickly as a roots or screw.

You also have to consider whether or not your engine can handle it, and if your transmission and driveline and suspension can take it as well

Its a slippery slope your walking on.
I started with a set of afr heads for my motor and wound up building a whole car front to rear.
I have the paxton carb setup.
Still working on it it has been cranked but not driven yet.
It is a beast 347 sounds awesome.
