ok are you looking for an almost stock setup or what?
my suggestion is get the windsor block and use clevor heads windsor head choke your motor more than the clevor heads. and you save from aftermarket until you can build up fund for really building a motor.
You can't just bolt cleveland heads to a windsor block without modifying the water passages in the cleveland head.

Clevors are obsolete with the availability of aftermarket 351W heads. The money spent to buy and adapt the cleve heads and intake is better spent on a nice set of windsor heads. You can make just as much power with modern heads as you can with a set of 4V cleve heads.

That said, clevors are still pretty nifty creations, and props to anyone building one 'just because it's cool.' It's just not worth it for the power alone.

And pushrod, I stand corrected Nice little spreadsheet there.

I can't take credit for the spreadsheet. Dodgestang posted it in another thread.

Just so we are clear...if you looking at 302 motors...there is no cleveland motor. This is the debate for 351 motors only.

With 302s are things like boss 302 which is essentially a 302 with 351 cleveland heads and a special intake....but it is not a cleveland.

All 302s are windor based motors. 289, 302, 351w are all in the same engine family. 351c is in a different engine family.

in the spreadsheet its not mentioning that the 351w has aluminum heads vs the factory cast 351c. that acentuates the weight factor of the already lighter 351w. You can build either but the w will allways be lighter :P

There is no such thing a "clevor" head. The term Clevor is a combination of CLEVeland and windsOR meaning you are using cleveland heads on a windsor block to create a hybrid engine. What you friend might actually have are Boss 302 heads if they bolted to a windsor block with no mods.
