Selftuning carb? That'd be nice if they existed. The only thing close I can think of would be like a blow through type carb from Pro Systems, that adjusts for pressure changes, but it comes ALREADY tuned for your application from them, and they START at around $850 and go up from there. Fwiw though most modern carbs are a lot better at maintaining a consistant AFR across varrying atmospheric conditions than older ones were. I've found that my 570 Street Avenger runs pretty much the same at 4,500ft as it does at 500ft, just less power at higher elevation

I really got to get better at spelling things out, yeah thats what I meant 67mustang302. And James I actually already have a 5.0 and t5 out of a 95 GT lying around at a friends shop, it doesn't do me much good being in NJ and me being in MI and moving to CA this week. Its not doing me much good so if anybody wants it let me know, its complete from top to bottom, all its missing is the battery. 60K miles.

Now James I have a question for you, could you give me a rough estimate of what it cost to do the conversion in my 67 C code 3 speed manual, that is if I got the complete motor and trans (t5 hydro) for around $1500. I'm looking to this as a long term investment. The labor and wiring and everything wouldn't be an issue for me, I wire much more complicated things like satellite ground terminals, you should see inside of those things. Or I could get mustanglover66's crate 400hp/400tq for $4000 complete then add a g-force t5 for $1300 but gas mileage would go down the tubes compared to an EFI performing the same, but I would have a warranty and a motor thats will get along with itself.

And what is the difference between the flat tappet and roller cam blocks performance wise with the numbers being the same, could I get power curves?

Doing it yourself, you can do it for engine/tranny plus $1000. That's to cover the little things like hydraulic clutch, battery wiring, exhaust, etc...

Roller cam have less friction which amounts to almost no wear between the cam and lifters campared to flat tappet. also you can get a higher lift roller cam than flat tappet. If you have to much lift on a flat tappet it will break cam lopes off sometimes the first time it fires. Higher lift = more power as long as the rest of the engine is matched. If you look under the tech & development tab on the T & L site eric did a pretty good write up on roller vs flat tappet.

Plus a roller cam has less horse power robbing friction.

Thanks James, that was the price range I was hoping for. I'm going to guess that setup in NJ is going to do you as much good as me being so far away. And thanks for the clearing up of the facts on the cams.
