Unless you're running EFI, I don't really see any reason to use an electric fuel pump. Go to Napa, Carquest, etc (would recommend againstCSK, Autozone, etc)and get a good name brand fuel pump.

Personally, I think something like that is way overkill for most street cars. Unless you're supplying a ridiculous amount of fuel to the engine, the factory replacement pump will likely work just as well as an aftermarket unit.

How's your engine built?

Personally, I run electric whenever possible. There are several advantages to an electric including the ability to prime the carb prior to startup and run the engine without the pump to dry out the carb (less mess when pulling it out to change jets, etc.).

I like the Edelbrock pump and use a return style regulator from Holley.

if you dont have to go electric i would go mechanical. i just trust the reliability of a mechanical one over the electrics. (im using electrical by the way but not by choice [&:])

if your looking for a good pump just get a summit house name pump. most of them are made by people like holley but they are just owned by summit, same pumps though.

If you plan on having a fuel pump that last a long time and provides a good deal of fuel for quite a bit more power than stock, than even a basic Holley or Edelbrock will be more than enough and be very reliable. That being said, most stock pumps do pretty well for street applications. Mechanical is cheaper than electric, and it's going to come down to how much you want to spend, preference, if you want to wire one in etc. They each have advantages and disadvantages. Obviously electric is reliable, otherwise they wouldn't be on pretty much every car ever made in the last 20 years.
