Default 69 Trans Cooler Lines

So I ordered a set from CJ Pony parts and went out today with the decent weather we had to change them, only to find out that Ford gives you NO working room whatsoever to detach them from the transmission.

My question is, are these high pressured lines, and if not, can I:

a) where the line is broken/cut, use a rubber hose with hoseclamps

or

b) get two of those line couplers that you turn to crimp the two ends together. (I did this a long time ago on an old cavalier fuel line coming from the fuel filter.

You can cut the hard lines and use rubber hose to rejoin them. Make sure the hose is rated for use with transmission fluid (you can get it at almost any auto parts store). You need to flare the ends of the hard line where it's cut so the hose won't eventually slip off.

Of course, installing the lines without cutting them is best.

Im probably going the route of using the compression coupling. At this point, there's no way for me to get the original lines off without removing the exhaust and more work that I don't need.
