Default Boss 351 Rotating Assembly

Well, its time for more power, the 69 heads, while they do flow pretty well for a SBF head, are just not cutting it. I've been looking and looking and I would like something around a 60cc chamber, and some nice size vavles. I have a 351W sitting at my house and would like to ask a few questions concerning the placement of Boss heads atop the block. Please keep in mind, I am in the very early stages and I am just trying to figure out my options. I know I probably won't have any power in the low end due to the port size however, please let me know any strengths and weaknesses in this design.

1. Is the rotating assembly completely different or could you use a 351 crank and rods with the Boss 351 pistons?
2. Is there any other modifications that need to be made? Other then different pushrods and a different set of headers and intake?
3. Is the time cover the same as a 351W?

Thank you everybody for your time and I would greatly appreciate any comments or suggestions. Thank you.

If you are talking about a clevor...to start with;
1. You can use theW rotating assembly, but calculate the CR
2. Drill holes in the block to match water path of theheads
3. yes

Thanks 69 Mach

When you say you can use the W rotation assembly, are you including the W pistons. Is it possible to dish the W pistons to work with the C heads

Also, I would like to call my self mechanically inclined, How difficult is drilling the block to match the water jacket?

Build the 351W and put Edelbrock's new 51309 heads on it. It'll make tons more power than it would if you built a Clevor using stock heads.

Yes, mine are forged flat tops with a .050" dish at zerodeck height. Be sure to measure valve clearance during assy.
Drilling the holes with a hand drill is easy.

Use CHI heads if you are going to use Cleveland heads at all...they are top of the line
