Well I know I don't own a 65 or 66 yet. But my 69 had a modern stereo in it already which fell out the moment I drove it. I'll be going with a modern one in it since I'm going to do a restomod and the dash has already been hacked. I plan on doing some modern touches to the car from newer mustang seats to a modern stereo.

I'm even thinking about doing this in the car since it is very subtle but makes it a nice touch for cruising some of the roads around here since I'm still new to the area.

Isn't there a way to add FM to the old Philco AM radios? I seem to recall somewhere that someone added FM to an old radio and it operated with a toggle switch hidden under the dash. Slide it one way for AM the other for FM.

I want to say the guys here in my state install a small digital display just behind the clear plastic display and that is for the CD player that is to be mounted in the trunk. You can click the **** on to the radio side and still adjust the volume like original but when returned to the off position it turns it offlike original. From there you can then turn it to a click position in the opposite direction and that turns the LCD on thats behind the display and also powers up the CD player. From there the first two select buttons control rew/ffw for the CD changer. I forgot how volume was adjusted inthis mode though.
Neat stuff, this is what I'm doing to mine. I have a regular Philco radio and also a Philco with 8-track and I plan on installing the 8-track.
