Default New 65/66 Cowl assemblies

Hey Everyone,
Not sure if anyone has already posted this yet, if so my apologies. Dynacorn has released their cowl assemblies for the 64-66 cars. It is a complete upper and lower assembly pre-welded and ready to install. The Dynacorn part number is 3648G. I have checked a few of the big name suppliers, but none have it listed yet. I will be calling around myself for one tomorrow.

The 67/68 assembly sells for 309.99 on cjponyparts, so I am going to guess somewhere around there.

CJPonyparts are expecting them anytime now. Looks like they will run right around the $300 mark.

You have to take the whole car apart to install it?

no, you don't have to disassemble the whole car. just have to remove the windshield, remove the fenders, remove the wiper motor and linkages, remove the duct vents, drill out about 270 spot welds, weld it all back in, seam seal it and paint, reassemble interior. it is possible to install a 67-68 lower pan if your top is good. all i had to do was remove the 67-68 wiper bracket and reweld the 65-66 on to it. sounds difficult, but it wasn't. best of all, i know i have it all coated inside with POR 15, which you wouldn't be able to do with a pre-welded unit...

Regarding the 64-66 model - did they "rust-proof" it or change the drainage design?

(Most of us are aware that there is a serious design flaw in the original that predisposes to clogs and rust development. I was hoping someone would make one of these that had a better designed drainage scheme.)

This is not the same as what NPD offers. NPD offers a 65/66 upper and you have to use a 67/68 lower and modify the wiper bracket. The part number is the same as the 67/68 in the catalog and says it has to be modified to fit.

Dynacorn did not change the design of the drain passages, but it is edp coated.
