Default Lower Radiator Hose

Hi everyone!

I have a 5.0 EFI in my 66'.

I am having issues with my lower radiator hose hitting the harmonic balancer.

Does anyone know a part number (or set-up) for a hose that will work with a stock radiator and the 5.0 EFI motor in a 65-66 Mustang?

I have a metal pipe inplace of the rubber hose temporarily to keep the hose from ripping apart by the harmonic balancer. I am concerned about clearance on the sway bar as well.

Thanks,

pictures please, does the water outlet on the water pump come out on the other side or something? normally, the hose goes on the drives side. (i think it does.... right?)

Thanks for the quick response. I will take some photos tomorrow (when I get back into town).

If my memory serves me correctly; the water outlet on the water pump is on the opposite side of the lower radiator outlet.

Check out Mustangs Plus and Ron Morris Performance. I think both sell a cross over kit.

A simpler option would be to take your radiator to a shop and have them move the lower outlet to the same side as the water pump inlet and use a standard short hose.

That one would be tougher due to the fan shroud and the trans cooler. Check out the AFCO universal radiators.

here's my setup:

the 5.0 pumps are reverse flow so you do have to have the bottom spout on the radiator switched. just take it to a radiator shop, its cake for them to do. only cost me about 40$, so no need for a new radiator.

sorry for the low quality pics, i had to use my phone [&:]
