Depending on what you are tired of, installing a ratchet shifter may be a good alternative. It would give you more control without the trouble and cost of a swap.

You will need a Clutch pedal assembly, linkage, (either stock Z-bar setup, cable, or hydraulic), new speedo cable, bell housing, clutch assembly, transmission mount, shifter (part of some trannys),you will probably need to either shorten or lengthen the drive shaft. and probably a driveshaft yoke.

Depending on the tranny you select, Itcan all bolt in like stock though...

Not a hard job, but a lot of stuff ($) to get.

The clutch pedal you can get from http://www.perogie.com/ question is you want a stock tranny or something newer with a overdrive.

Where year is the 4 speed you purchased and what did it cost you? Did you go from 3 spd to 4 spd or C4 to 4 spd?

Installing a stick in your car is a very easy bolt-in project. If you don't have a factory service manual, get one, it will make the job much easier. Here are two additional sources for the clutch/tranny parts:

http://www.am-mustangparts.com/

http://www.jkmustang.com/jkmustang/

I've used both places and found that if one doesn't have the part the other does. JK mustang also deals in used parts. Perogie has everything you will need to but they price their stuff like it was made of gold.

Its not that difficult if you have all the right parts, clutch pedal assy, bell hsg, speedo cable, driveshaft, yoke, clutch disc, pressure plate, shifter assy, etc. You might have to shorten or lengthen your driveshaft. Are you going with a 4 speed?Get yourself a service manual!! It will make the job that much easier!!Good Luck with it![8D]

FYI, Me and another forum member are swaping our tranny cores, pedal assemblys, bell housings, linkages, etc.

I have an auto and he has a stick. We both want what the other has.

You might see if someone else on the forum close to you can provide the same situation.
