347 stroker dilema
I have a 66 mustang with a 347 stroker. I've been building the engine for a year now and im running into difficulties. Almost everything on the engine is brand new, so heres my problem....when i take my car for a drive and come to a stop it acts like it wants to stall and when the engine is fully warmed up it will. I thought i might have high vacuum levels so i've been tweaking with the carb for the past month with only increase in torque. This is wat is done to it...It was a 289 stroked to a 347, ported stock heads, 512 lift 230 duration comp cam, edelbrock 1405 carb, edelbrock duel plane high raise intake manifold, and a holley hipo fuel pump, theres lots of other stuff done also. I am running a 2 inch exhuast, but only temporarly untill this weekend and then side exhuast. Does ne body know why im stalling???
Sounds like high float levels... runs good cold because it needs more fuel, then dies when the engine warms up.
Check your fuel pressure and/or install a pressure regulator if the pump has too much output.
Get rid of that 600 cfm Edelbrock carb for a 700-750 Holley dbl. pmpr. It'll never run right until you do.
Did you say 2" exhaust? You might want to upgrade that to 2.5" duals.
Check for vacuum leaks and stuff around the intake ports and carb ports, vacuum lines etc...
