Default performance brake fluid/pads.

I have granada front disc and was wondering what type of brake fluid you guys use?? I want to try putting some mild performance brake fluid with some better pads. Something not too agressive that will screw up my slotted rotors.

No fluid yet but I have a good bit of Valvoline Syn-brake fluid Im going to use. I think thats like DOT5. I also have a drilled/slotted Granada setup with semi-ceramic pads

Are you planning on autocrossing the car? Performance pads and Dot 5 fluid are designed for high heat buildup conditions where you don't want the brakes fading during repeated hard braking. For street driving, you're better off using conventional Autoparts store pads and regular Dot 3 fluid.

yes, the car will be for roadracing. What would be a good pad/fluid set-up?

Performance Friction pads, I use em, Roush/Yates racing uses them, they have a lot of different compounds too. AP racing fluid is the best no questions asked...Look at some Lincoln Kelsey Hayes 4 piston calipers if you are serious about road racing, open tracking...try cobra automotive, lots of road racing goodies...

Don't mix the DOT 5 with 3. It makes for a bad combo that I hear will eat/ corrode yourseals and lines.

if its a dot5 then its not compatible at all once silicone based theres a 5.1 that glycol based i believe but i still dont know if its compatible? if you go from regular to silicone based you have to flush the system with alcohol

a good brake fluid will be in a metal container(water can still be absorbed thru the plastic containers ever if they are sealed) fords brake fluid in the metal container is one of the best you can buy Motorcraft PM1

hawks brake pads are supposed to be a farily good buy for the money

You absolutely cannot mix DOT 5 with DOT 3. Mixing will eat up the seals. You need to completely flush the system out with denatured alcohol (iirc) before you convert. DOT 5.1 however does mix with DOT 3.
