so the the other week i picked up a T5 trans im gonna rebuid +for $30...has some problems, as obvious in the pictures. but other then that, what do you guys think of it?

for $30, you got a good case

 

the guy had two...was hopping to be able to use the cluster gear from an 88 in this one (a 93) but it was torn up too...sooo, he wanted it outa his way. third gear and a cluster shoulnt be to hard to round up no? anyone here have an old one?

 

For $30.00 you stole that The case alone is worth way more then $30.00 I would have the case crack tested so you can make sure that when those gears came apart no damage happened to the case. Best sense you need to buy new gears any way you can upgrade to Z-spec internals.

speakin of gears, I was wondering if I get a new cluster gear, It should be the same type of metal otherwise i wear stuff out fast right? trying to avoidreplacing ALL the gears if I can help it

I was actually referring to dr1965's signature but now it is different.

As far as the Z-spec it was the strongest T5 Tremmec ever made. Not as strong as the G-force stuff, but not as expensive either. To upgrade you need a new cluster gear and a new input shaft.
