Default Paint question

I have Pianted the interior of my 68 using Nason ful-thane, mixed to a 6/1/1ratio as per instructions from the paint shop.
My question is why does it scratch/chip so easily? Is there any way to harden this stuff up?
Thanks

Was it a one stage paint or two stage? Don't know much about that type of paint...Was it sprayed in cold weather/humid weather?

i've used Nason Fulthane before, as a matter of fact just recently on a truck. 6/1/1 is too hard and it's making the paint brittle which is why it's doing that, mix it at 8/2/1 and you should be fine.

+1 on the 8:2:1,, but, I don't see the extra hardener being a hugeissue with the chipping. Surface prep is very important, the old finish needs to be scuffed very well, and the old surface can not be lefttoo thick. If the interior had been previously re-painted, there is a chance that the old surface was just too thick.

Also a new surface is prone to chipping if too much primer is used.

This problem is usually made evident when the surface chips easily along edges and corners.

"Primer on"should to be accompanied by "primer off" by sanding the primer surfaces especially along edges and corners.

Nason is an excellent product IMO, but surface prep is essential.

I dont know if this helps but I just used the rattle can paint out of a catalog. I did it very carefully with lots of prep and it looks pretty good and doesnt scratch or chip.

8/2/1 ratio? HUMMMMM 8 parts paint, 2 parts activator 1 part acitone? would that be corect? My prep was pain stalking and vary detailed almost to bair metal. Ill do some touch ups, if i mess it up ill use your mix.

It came out real nice untill i chiped a few spots while dry fitting the new dash trim. ERRRRRR
Thanks for the assistance.
