I know i need to replace my spring perches the rubber is worn out, do i need to buy a whole kit? or can i jus replace the parts i see that need changing do i really need new controll arms?
any input on someone thats done this?
If the uppers and lowers are original, all the bushings are probably worn. Mine were! You are going to have it apart anyway. Probably going to need an aligment if you do.
yes everything is original , if i buy a rebuild kit which company should i buy from?
also can i perform this alignment by myself or do i need specail tools?
Alignment will have to be done at a shop. It should be between $50-100 depending on where you live. As far as which company to buy from, there are tons. Check out mustangs plus, mustangs unilimted, NPD. There are lots more, sure others will chime in soon.
Have you thought about upgrading to roller spring perches?
They cost more, but add so much to a better ride.
I won't own a classic Mustang without a set.
I wouldnt go with poly-type bushings. They offer better handling, but are stiff as all hell, squeek, and can damage some suspension parts. I'd rather go with the rubber..
