Default Brake squeak help

I have SSBC 4 piston calipers on running semi metallic pads.

They have been fine for the last 7+ thousand miles

Now the left front squeaks when stopping

Pad looks the same as right front and both side look great.

Why is it just starting to squeak now????

Any suggestions on stopping it without changing pads???

Thanks

Gun

Most part stores have this stuff called Brake Quiet, try it. Take the pads out and spread it where the back of the pad contacts the caliper. Works great, but can be messy if you use to much. Its $3 a bottle.

that works but make sure there's no leak or anything causing your brakes to become contaminated. my rr caliper was leaking after a brake job on my 95GT and now 3 weeks after I put new pads on I've got a squeek when the brakes are cold.

yeah, try that, they might jsut be, i think its called, glazed, its nothing rlly. it might go away on its own, maybe try driving it more, ive had modern cars do it too, and it passes at times. it might not mean much if performance hasnt been affected and its not past its normal wear.

Ill try out the brake quite sounds like it should do the trick.

There are no leaks

The pads are not glazed or cracked they have a nice dull slghtly rough texture to them.

Thanks for your help Ill try out the brake quite tomorrow and let you know how it goes

Is it a metallic squeeking, or a pad on rotor squeeking? Semi/metallic pads make noise. Mine moan when I brake lightly and howl like a banshee when I bury it, but they're also a high temp full metallic. Just the nature of the beast, more friction = more noise.

Okay I tried the brake quite but that didnt help.

Upon closer inspection the pad is actually cracked around the rivet holes nearest the outside and a section of it missing.

Called SSBC and they said the pads shouldn't crack or chip off in that section and that is probably the issue.

SSBC recommended getting some D11 pads....Are D11s semi metallic?

Thanks

Gun

PS 67mustang302 aren't high temp full metallic for race only? I thought they were dangerous to use when brake pad temps are below 800F?
