Default Where does PCV valve hose connect

Passenger side valve cover has PCV valve with rubber hose. Does this go to large fitting at base of carb or to underside of aircleaner. When I bought my car, it was hooked to the aircleaner, but my race buddy says it should go to the base of the carb. He's been right about everything else - is he right again? He says that this might also have an impact on how the rear main seal seals too!! If this is the case, I'll be one really happy camper!

I think it goes to the base of the carb, but who knows, I've never tried it on the air cleaner. Mine had one that went from the air cleaner to the oil cap.

Yup, base of carb. The breather on the d-side valve cover should be connected to the air cleaner.

it's also unlikely that there will be any impact on your rear main seal issue.

I was hoping that changing the internal pressure from positive to negative would stop the oil from "blowing past" the rear main seal... (I can always HOPE, no?). I'll try it this weekend and see if it makes a difference. My race buddy says there's a good chance it might... At least this change will stop the oil mist from coming out the breather and yukking up the drivers side valve cover and spark plug wires!! If it helps with the seal leakage, that will be a real plus!

good tip to cover that blow by up is to get one of those sweat bands that you put on your wrist and put it under neath your cap on the valve cover. I got a blue one to match the wires and engine.

but like i said, that just covers the problem, doesnt fix it!
