Parking Brake Hookup: help
The body shop un hooked my parking brake from underneath the car when they replaced the floor pans, and they didn't put it back. So now I'm putting in my parking brake and don't know how it goes. Anybody have pictures or diagrams of the parking brake hookup UNDERNEATH the car? I need to know how it attaches to the cable that goes in the inside of the car.
Ok, the 66 and 69 are different but similar...
You should have an "equalizer lever" near the end of your transmission. on the 66 there is a bunch of wierd brackets holding this lever in place. By looking at pictures of the 69 lever, it looks like it might simply bolt to another bracket near the tail-shaft.
One end of the lever bolts to a bracket of sorts. there are two other holes in the lever. The cable from the car should go into the far hole, and the "adjuster rod" from the rear cables should go into the center hole.
There are pictures of both"lever" and the "adjuster"on these two pages. Might help you to build a mental picture of how this thing works.

This might not be right at all,, but I think it might be...
