1965 mustang spline?

Default 1965 mustang spline?

I have a 1965 mustang that was a 6 cly and now covert to a 302 v8 out of a 68 with a auto c4 I am going to buy a new high performace c4 and some say 26 spline what do I need?[sm=helpout.gif]

28 spline is stock or 31 spline aftermarket. I can save you some time. Search "engine swap" in the classic section. You will have to change the whole front suspension, spindles, springs etc.

It appears he is talking about the transmission, not the axle. In that case I believe (could be wrong) the options were 24 spline on the early C4'sand 26 spline on the later ones. Go with the later C4.

I thought the C4 splines were 28 not 26 I could be wrong,Have you changed out the front suspension and such?Good Luck!

I am not sure if you mean the TQ spline or the yoke spline, either way as long as you have the right part on both ends of the tranny it will work..

Assumng that you will be getting anew TQ in any case, the only additional expense could be the driveshaft yoke which you would probably want to get anyway, assuming that the 6 cyl C-4 uses the same same size u-joint as the the manual trans 6 cyl. The manual 6 cyl trans yoke has a very small yoke for the u-joint. Probably smaller than you would want to run behind a V-8
