Default 9in question

does anyone know the distance of the spring perches on a stock 67rear end?
i found a rearend housing thats 54inches flange to flange with a spring perch of 43 inch center to center. wanted to know if this will be a direct bolt on to a 67 mustang coupe?

as far as axle bearing housing goes, are large axle bearing housing better than medium bearing housing? is there a difference other than to get large axle for large bearing housing and medium axle for medium bearing house?

I got this link from the FAQ, It does not specify spring perch placement, but it does list the width. The perches can be easily cut off and rewelded to the housing so I would first concentrate on the overall width, and plan on moving the perches if needed.

IMO, the big bearing is not really needed on a light car like a Mustang, but I am sure there are different opinions on this. I think the axles themselves are the same diameter, big or small bearing.

Mustang spring saddles are 43" center to center and flange to flang is 53.25 on a 67 so you shoul be hood to go. for more info check out this web site

if you go to the "9-inch rear end info" drop down menu there 10 more pages of good 9" info

I run a small bearing 9 inch in my 65 which is primarily a street car that gets flogged at the track occasionally and has a pretty stout motor. IMO if you were building a heavily tracked open track/autox/road race car you could see a benefit from the larger bearing but if you are building a street car I wouldn't be too concerned with it.

Daze, 67-70 9" housings are 54.25" flange to flange, not 53.25" And the earlier generation is 52.25"...
