ok so im decoding my VIN for a 1966 mustang coupe and went to carbed ford and another site and both sites cant come up with a engine accept for carbed ford WHEN i change one of the 1's to a L, then it says it has a 250ci 1bbl i6. but if i am correct they didn't make the 250 until either 67 or 68. can anyone help?

yeah thats the other one I used but even when i changed the1 to an L it still could not come up with an engine

 

What is the fifth didget in your vin.

 

Take a pic of your VIN. Maybe you are looking at it wrong. I work in shipping, seeing different kinds of handwriting and print all the time, and sometimes you just have to get another opinion on what a letter/number is.

 

Probably a T, not a 1 or L. T = 200ci I6

A V8 289 CID 4V
C V8 289 CID 2V
K V8 289 CID 4V High Performance
T I6 200 CID 1V
