the skin is just the outer "skin" the full quarterpanel also has bracing. i dont think it is neccisary to get the full quarter unless youve been in an accident or have excessice rust because the factory bracing is fin. unless like i said you have excessive rust or have been in an accident

not sure how much that made sense. here are some links.
this is a full quarter panel http://mustangsunlimited.com/itemdy00.asp?T1=67846+01
heres a skin http://mustangsunlimited.com/itemdy00.asp?T1=527846+01
the skin's are also cheaper
the skin is just the outer sheetmetal
i think that one made more sense

I have used them both and I would recommend the full quarter and trim away what you don't need. You will be happier in the long run if you get the full quarter. The skins can come up short in different areas depending on who is making them. Of instance you don't get the quarter cap on the skin. It makes it much harder to get the quarter extension to fit right when you have to break all the welds around the cap and then get the skin positioned just right before welding. I recomend spending the extra money. It is not that much more.
