They are 67-68's. The company responsible for producing the authentic GT500E was located here in the Dallas, Texas area. I say "was" because they have recently had most of their cars confiscated by the police. Evidently, they were using money from person A's deposit to pay for building person B's car. I assume he was behind on the bills so people started complaining and began lawsuits. Carroll Shelby has pulled his endorsement for this company. It looks like it's over for Unique Performance.

Unique Performance Home Site...however it is very limited compared to what it used to be...I suppose lawsuits will do that

Here is the article on the confiscation.

I am almost positive I read on their site that they used 67 or 68's. I haven't looked recently and like I said the site has been slimmed down now that they are in trouble. However, I believe they are still producing the Foose GT, but that's about it.

Probably, a little more info than you were looking for, but I thought you might be interested being you are a fan of the car like I am. Take it easy.

The first and only true one is a 73 mach1 the remake of gone in 60 sec was a fugly 67 chip foose designed. The 67 and 68 mustang have different quarter panels the interior and few small things.

Andrewmp6 is correct in that the original Eleanor is believed to have been a 73 mach 1. Image from the movie is below.
