Default floor pans

[sm=badbadbad.gif]whats up my fellow stangers. I finally made it over to the dark side. I am finally a proud owner of a awesome 68 coupe. Replacing in line 6 with fuel injected 302. Right now i am replacing the front and back floor pan on the drivers side. Any advice from fellow stangers would be great.
i removed old rusted piece and have the full length one piece ready to bewelded in. Should i clean the metal up and prime (etch) or should i get the POR 15 kit or can i do both?

POR = paint over rust

I would take the lazy way out and clean it up a bit then use the por 15. some sound deadener. then carpet. then a 12 pack of newcastle.

I like to remove/cut all rust out and any surface welding to need to be free of rust and clear of any paint or the mig weld will spatter and look crappy......just an idea

Yes, get ride of ALL the rust or it will come back to haunt you and it will make the welding alot easier too.
When I replaced both full side of ours. The first floor pans I bought for our Mustang were the ones that are made in Canada and I hate to say it but they SUCKED. They were to long for one thing. By about 1 1/2" or so. And they did not have some of the bends in them up at the front. The second ones I bought were the ones from ( I hate to say this also but) Taiwan and they fit like a glove. Good luck and remember when you are going the floors in yours you are having fun.
