ok. I got the por 15 kit. Started cleaning with the marine clean. finished with that, rinsed it off and started the next stage with the metal ready. I sprayed the metal ready and let it sit for at least 30 minutes.
It didnt seem to work very good. I used it full strength andit still got that rust color. I dont want to brush the por 15 on the rust. What should I do? I thought maybe I could just sandblast the area and then go to step 2, followed by por15. Anyinput would be great. Thanks

POR-15 is designed to be applied directly over rust. Metal Ready acts as a primer for it. I don't weld but I do know rust and welding don't mix well, but if the area is not to be welded the POR-15 should take care of it.

Stupid question butare youwelding in the floors before you por 15? I would not treat the floors till it is all welded together. Also when you seal the can of paint up put saran wrap over the opening before putting the lid back on otherwise you will have to fight it to open the can again.
