What does the "HO" in HO 302 mean? Sorry still learning.

From back in the day when 220hp was considered high output. lol. That's the average V6 today.

 

how can I find out if my 302 is "HO"? Its a 90 LTD motor.

 

well the cam is a roller cam, has roller lifters rather than hydraulic or solid. and the bottom end is forged internals rather than cast. as far as identifing one, well the easiest way is to pop the hood and look at the intake, says "5.0 HO EFI" on my 95GT.

I believe I just read that they started the HO in 87. But I'm not sure really how to check externally
