Default Torque Box/Toe Board

Which should I install first - torque box or toe board? I think I read somewhere that I need to do the torque box first to get to some welding points - this true?

I replaced my floor pans first then decided to put torque boxes in. I had to do some cutting to get the boxes in but it wasnt that difficult.

I just put torque boxes, my pans were good.I would think you would want to get the floor pan in the right place and fit the torque boxes to them!

I believe this issue was addressed in the mustangs monthly tech articles in 2006.

I replaced my torque boxes and toeboard at the same time. You can use the frame rail as a placement guide for the toeboard, I think it all aligns up if I remember right. Then the torque box fits in there.

Zmetal,
I guess us So Calfolks are spoiled. After looking at your rust problem, i would have never bought a car with suchrust damage (unless it was a $500 or less). We would scrap a car in that condition. It makes me appreciate what the rest of you folks in the country put up with weather-wise.

Yes, there was a lot of rust. I have learned a lot and probably would never do it again. I know, never say never. It was too much but it was fun and now I know exactly what I have. It is officially rust free. I have been over this thing inside and out! I havelive in Indiana and Arizona so I know how nice it is to have good weather. And bad weather.
