Autometer Speedometer - OEM or Aftermarket Speedo Cable?
I just purchased this autometer 5" in-dash speedometer:

And I'm having a hard time determining what speedometer cable to get (I don't even have the OEM one). The instructions make it sound like you need to get a "custom cable", but their specs are confusing...
Anyone done this before that can shed some light?
Thanks!

The way I read it, you can use your existing cable, order a stock speedo cable for car.

and that depends on my transmission, correct?
how many versions of 4 speed manual are there?
I used my factory speedo cable. It plugged right into my autometer speedo, and the other end has fit both my 4sp and 5sp.
same here, im going to be redoing my dash gauges to more modern aftermarket ones sometime in the future. get this though, right now i have the speedo cable in connected to both the tranny and gauge, and it still doesnt work. like some stated in another post, maybe my cable is broken or snapped.
So based on this shot from the NPD catalog:

It looks like there's 6 possibilities for my '69 speedo cable...
How do I determine the gear ratio?
