Default 1967 Resto Mod

Anybody know the engine compartment dimensions of th 67' stang? What would be the largest possible engine that could possibly fit?
I'm thinking of buying a 67' to restore and update with modern components. I know this might sound crazy but I'm thinking of going
with a 5.4 liter. I think there will be some clearance issues (hood, strut towers?), anybody know for sure?

I just think that the classic style of the 67' with the power of the 5.4 will be badass.

I have a 351W (5.8L) in my 67 and it fits just fine. I think a 390 would squeeze in, but I dunno much more than that..

429 (non boss) can be bolted in because we did it years in a 68 coupe, so the 460 prob does to. But is the goal of this car simply to bolt the largest physical motor (is cast iron size) or something else?

If you remove the towers and go with a Mustnag 2 front, then a 5.4 will fit. You will have to pay attention to evey 1/16 of an inch and keep the engine low and back to make it work. A 32 valve is much larger. Heres a photo of my 5.4 Supercharged 32 valve.

I've seen a 427 SOHC in one but the shock towers were removed. You'd have to do the same thing to get the 5.4 in there but it could be done with a lot of work.
