Default headlight switch?

I have a 1972 mustang grande and I cannot get it to start. I went simple at first replacing all the battery cables and the battery itself and still nothing. I then went to the selonoid and replaced it and I still cannot get it to crank over. I did however pull out my headlight switch to see if I had any lights and I did not, but my car did turn over once, but I think I blew the fues at that point. Anyone have any suggestions or know how to replace the headlight switch in this model? Thanks.

If your headlight switch is bad, your car will still start fine. It's got to be something else like a bad ground or something not hooked up correctly. Grab a test light and start at the battery and work your way through the car

Default RE: headlight switch?

are you sure its not the starter itself? try this, take a jumper wire and touch one end of the jumper wire to the solenoid that has the positive battery cable on itnow the solenoid will have 2 little post sticking out the front of it one is labeled s touch the other end of the jumper wire to this terminal, itll either crank over, BE CAREFULL AND STAND CLEAR OF ANY ROTATING ITEMS! or itll just go clunk, basically your bypassing the ignition switch this way, if it just klunks then try grabbing an extra body and jack the car up on the passenger side and please use a jackstand so you dont die! and while someone turns the key tap the starter with a hammer. sometimes a bad starter will start goin again this way. another thing is check your battery groung wire where it bolts to the motor, where it bolts to must be free of paint to make a good connection, and make sure that sob is TIGHT! and verify your battery has a good 12 volts, alse make sure your solenoid bolt to fendor apron bolts are tight. good luck
