Default 408 / holley program

I was reffered here to ask my question so here it is:

I have a 408W all roller motor in my offroad truck, just ordered some new heads, the patriot performance SBF ones. It also has a Holley Commander 950 EFI TBI ( I know I shoulda got the MPI ) I'd like to ask and see if any of you guys are running this system witha motor like this and what are the tunes you are using. The motor is out of the truck now waiting for the heads so I cant go run it. This is what the motor goes in: http://www.4x4legend.com

the specs on it when it goes back in:

Head Specs: ( Patriot Freedom series )

Combustion Chamber: 60cc
Intake Runner: 185cc
Exhaust Runner: 70cc
Intake Valve: 2.02"
Exhaust Valve: 1.60"
Max. Valve Spring Lift: 0.550"
Retainer Material: Steel
Valve Seal Material: Viton
Valve Guide Material: Manganese Bronze
Valve Job: 5-angle

Cam specs: ( Speed Pro pt# CS195R )

2000-5500 rpm range
289 intake/ 299 exhaust adv. duration,
duration @ .050 of 212 intake and 222 exhaust,
Valve lift of .493 intake and .510 exhaust,
Lobe C/L is 112

the rest:

351W small block with a 408 stroker kit with extra .030 over so its a 414, also has the 6.2" rods
4" stroke
4.060 bore
the pistons have a 27cc dish for pump gas
full roller rockers
edelbrock performer intake ( not the RPM version )
MSD Offroad ignition with Ford TFI distrinutor for computer control
no engine driven fan
pace setter shorty headers into a single 3" exhaust with a dynomax muffler

thanks for taking the time to look at this

Joe

Make sure you throughly check those heads when you get them, the quality has been showing to be quite lacking.

As far as your tune, it's an uncommon non-standard setup, so most likely you're gonna need some dyno time with a tuner. It's doubtful you'll find any type of canned tune for that setup that you can upload into the ECM and have it run properly. Without a custom tune you'll just be leaving a lot of power/mileage/performance on the table.

thanks for the link on the patriot heads. very interesting. I'll call Gunnar monday and ask a few questions. I don't havethe money to go AFR's ( although I wish I did ) and I gotta get this thing running. I had World Windsor Sr heads on it but one got a nice crack in it. I'll probably end up with these anyways, I'll take some good pics and post em for you guys. I'm in no way an expert on motors but I'll try to analize them a bit post pics and let you guys finish up on them.
