Default vinyl color question

i have a little question for you guys about the color of my hump hugger console. it came with my car and its black so it doesnt match the rest of my interior. would there be anyway to change the color, like besides just spray painting it?

thanks!

they make a aerosol vinyl spray...it's referred to as a "dye"..but not really sure of how effective it is...I've seen it at Pep Boys, and i think it's made by Duplicolor

I recently finished changing the color of my vinyl back seats from Palomino to Black. You will need to apply some special cleaner/vinyl prep to the vinyl prior to applying the vinyl dye. I bought both the vinyl prep and vinyl dye from Mustangs Unlimited. So far, I am happy with the results.

Good luck.

I just recently changed the color of my seats, carpet, hump hugger and everything else vinyl from blue to black with some stuff called SEM Color Coat. It worked great. I've even had a few people ask how long it took to recover the seats. It's flexible unlike regularpaint and doesn't rub off at all. I didn't need all the special conditioners and cleaners. I just used rubbing alcoholand rubbed it down real well and used a little acetone for the really bad spots.I found it at the local auto paint place. It's kind of pricey at ~$11 a can, but it works really well. I would suggest that you put down a layer of adhesion promoter, though because I did have a few small spots that I just couldn't get the coating to stick to.

Here's a website for it:
