Default 1968 Leaf Spring

We put new 4 leaf, leaf spring, shackles, ubolts, shockson the rear of our 68 Fastback and it still sits low and rubs the tires. They are 235-60's on a 7 inch wheel with a 4 inch back spacing. I cant have anyone in the back seat or they rub. It still sits higher in the front than the back, actually you cant tell a difference between the old springs and new. I dont wanna use air shocks. Air ride technologies setup is over 1500 bucks. Any suggestions?[:@]

I'm having the same problem. I have not done anything about it yet. I dread the bumps!

I just went through the same grief with my '67 Coupe. I bought new "stock" leaf springs, only to find out they made zero change to the ride height.

To get it the way I wanted it, I had to replace the front coils with 620 lb, 1" lower springs. Then I took the old set of leafs to a spring shop and had them re-arced +1.5". If I could do it again, I might have gone even more, maybe 1.75 or 2".

Here's a link with before and after pics.:

I have the same issues with my '66 coupe. I have not changed the leaf springs yet tho' but that is on the to-do list.
My front sits good, but I was wondering if the 1 1/2"' raised springs would do the same ting instead of buying stock then having them re arched. My rear tires are also 235/60 and I have CREAGERS all the way around.

I don't think I would have leafs re-arched, because the replacement ones are so inexpensive to begin with. I put 5-Leaf Mid-Eyes on mine for under $200. They were a pretty good match to my 620's that were cut to lower further. My wheels sit out on the fenders in the front and back, but the 5-Leafs are so strong I don't bottom out on bumps. I am surprised that stock springs didn't raise the back end if the original ones were sagging. That makes no sense.
