Default electric fan temp sensor degrees???

I have an electric fan with an aluminum radiator (Jegs kit) and wanted to know what temperature to set the manual fan? I have a temp sensor gun and will set it basedhead temp - i was thinking to set at about 170 degrees as Ron Francis has his switch set for (thermostat is 180). Can someone give me some ideas on this? Can anybody share their experience with adjusting temp on their electric fan, thanks!

thanks gun jam. I had bought the electric fan temp sensor with my Ron Francis kit but this sensor is supposed to screw into the head and it isdesigned to go onat 170(go figure, there is no place to do this on the Ford engine). They also said that if I screwed it into the intake manifold, it would come on about 20 degrees later - so bad result I would think. I am going to use the mechanical unit that came with the aluminum radiator kit - it has a probe.

did you use a probe type unit? How have you liked it?
