white face guage problem

Ok I just purchaced Autometer Phantom white face guages and a factory bezel. The 2 1/6 guages fit but the 5 "speedo and tachthat I bought dont fit the factory large hole. The hole is too small. Has anybody done grinding or fabrication to make this mod work? Any help or ideas appreciated.
