fan thermostat

Default fan thermostat

What fan thermostat should i get for my electric fans on my 302. Ive decided to go with dual 12' fans.

We used this one,,,,

I like it, starts at half speed and gradually goes to full speed as engine heat rises. If you get this one you will need the dual fan kit as well. With the dual fan setup, the second fan comes on when the primary fan reaches 100%.

why not splice them so they wotk together as one fan?

It is a solid state controller and the power draw is just too much to lay on one circuit.

Even with traditional controller relays, the best commonly usedrelays will only take about 30 amps. Depending on the fans, each one may draw as much as 30 amps. This is a huge draw. I willguess that each of your two fans will draw about 20 amps.

In short, I say whatever controller you choose, if it were me I would want a double relay to be incorporated into it's design. There are certainly cheaper controllers on the market, but I have not seen one that has more to offer in the coolness department.
