Default Removing Door Panels

How do you getdoor panels off without breaking the fasteners?Must be a trick to do it right. What's the secret? Help!!!

i believe there are spot welds running around the entire panel that you have too drill out

No, I mean the interior panels - the finish trim panels that the door latch and window crank poke out of. It's like a particleboard covered with fabric.

ooooo![&:] ok well what i did was get a long flathead and slipped it underneath and found the clips and gently tried to pry them out, i didnt break any, it might work for you, i think they make a tool for it too

It takes a "feel" to get those tabs to snap out of there. Like the windshield tabs. tricky. It usually takes a special tool to get those out.

There is a special tool for this. Its called a Trim Removal Tool. Its designed for removing the chrome trim so you don't bend/damage the trim and brake the clips. Its also perfect for door panel removel. Looks like a small pry bar. Many uses while redoing a car and I recommend one in all tool boxes.

Here is a pic.. Typically sell for 5 to 15 bucks so pretty cheap.

I just use an old butter knife it seems to work better than a flathead or that tool.
