Default Fitting quarter patch

Don't know everyone else does it but this worked for me. Cut out the bad part of the wheel well flare. Taped a big sheet of paper over the quarter and then used a sharp knife to cut out the shape. Moved the paper to the quarter skin I had and used it as a template to mark the cut area. Drew a second line 1-1/4 inch out for the cut (this patch is to be panel bonded in). The patch as shown slides up between the quarter skin and wheel housing. It still needs more grinding and fitting but it already fits pretty good and it is tight against the inside of the quarter skin and the wheel housing where the panel bonding will go. It will take a skim coat of filler to bring the patch up to level since it is mounted behind the existing skin. The filler will only be body thickness - not much. This replaces a bunch of flat strap steel, rivets and 1/2 inch of filler which was there as a patch from the PO. I know theothers would do it differently but for my situation - no ability to weld and no room - this is a pretty good alternative.

looks like it came out nice, gotta do what you gotta do! Also its nice to know that your quarters are mostly original metal rather than having an aftermarket car lol
