I don't have a "D" post on mine, just the terminals in my first post. I would think that even if the cap tube was in the wrong place, hot coolant is hot coolant. It should have been hot at the top by the hose and still hot at the bottom of the radiator at the bottom hose. Still, it didn't turn on at all.

I am going to try some things, but will have to wait till Friday when I get time.

Thanks for all the help and posts so far. I will post again to let everyone know what happened.

Oh, I got an email reply from flex-a-lite giving me some ideas of things to try to.

Good news! I worked on the fan issue last night and got it all fixed.

I turned the whole fan unit around so the capillary tube was close to where the inlet is and the coolant comes in from the thermostat housing.

I also took the wire from the "+" terminal that I ran to the starter solenoid and ran it to the fuse box under the dash.

Works like a champ now! I even had to adjust the thermostat setting on the fan unit to let the coolant get a little hotter. We'll see how it works when it gets hot around here.

Thanks to all who posted and gave me advice to what to do.

By the way, I don't know if it just me, but the car seams like it has more power. I expected a difference, but it is more than what I thought.

Glad you got it worked out.

I remember the car being a lot quieter after my electric fan install im sure it scored some more free ponies at freeway speed too.

Yes, mine is much quieter now. It makes the rumble of the engine sound better. Seems like it runs better all around too, such asstartingeasier, idling better, andalso a little extra zip when you punch the accelerator.I was really surprised how little the fan actually runs. I actuallyran the car down the interstate and then let it sit and run to see and hear the fan kick on and off.

Works good and no regrets at all! I recommend it!
